Syrus54 - '94 Pickup 350 Small Block Conversion

Makin' Me a Race Truck.

This is my thread for my Conversion from a 22re 4 cyl, in my 1994 Toyota Pickup, 1WD, Manual,
to a 1969 Corvette 350 Small Block, 2WD, Auto.

Engine pulled, got the 350 ready to go in, but I cant find any damn Engine Mount kits for a 22re to 350 Small Block Conversion.
Anyone know where to get those???
I really dont want to Fabricate my own...

Well... Originally, when I go to do a Burnout, only 1 wheel has Power. I lay down 1 tire track, i.e: 1 Wheel Drive.
Welding the Axle makes '2' Wheel Drive. It also decreases your Holeshot time, by giving you a better launch with better traction.

I just need to get a Kit to swap out the 22re with the 350 Small Block.
1 guy said "Advance Adapters", did a search, got Nothing. When i Finally DID get some results, they didnt have ANY kits for 22re to 350.
So i'll probably hit up the Steel Yard tomorrow, and Weld my Own Brackets.

When I bought it, the Engine had a Thrown rod, that was Jammed between the Crank Shaft and the Block, not allowing the crank to move at all. It took me a few days of VERY VERY hard work, but I was able to un-jam it, get a NEW rod, new bearings, New Oil pan (2 holes in the old one from the Rod getting Thrown).

Today, I was able to get the 350 into the Truck. I've done EVERY SINGLE THING by myself.. I'm So Proud of ME... lol

I think I'm gonna hand the Project off to my Cousin, who has a shop, so he can make me some Engine Mounts.
i COULD do it myself, but screw it. He needs the Business, and I need a Break.

Then, I just have to Cut the Quarter Panel off the bed, and mod the Driveshaft, and Then I'm headed to the Track.

Tomorrow, I need to pull the engine back out (over-torqued the Crank, and Engine wont turn), plus I need to Threadlock all the Connecting rod bolts, anyway.

Anyway, here's a Pic of Some NEW parts I'll be putting on once the Engine's in:

I still need to get some Auto Trans Fluid, and some Hoses.

Once the Engine Mounts arrive, HOPEFULLY,i'll be able to Bolt the Engine in.

OK, Engine's Bolted in, and I had to un-bend the firewall-thing (that holds the Radiator), because it was bent trying to get the 4 cyl out, and that caused my hood to NOT WANT to latch.

Oh Yeah, It's Gettin' There:

Here's the $130 Engine Mounts, + the NEW mounts I had to get (that bolt onto the ENGINE itself):

i WAS worried about the Oil Pan not clearing, but Thankfully, it Did:

Got my Starter Wired up, but some of the Crank Bolts must still be too tight.

The Starter's not turning the Crank.

So I have to go back in there, pull the engine back out (which sucks ass), and figure out WHICH bolts are too tight, and re-torque.

I'm close to getting the Engine Running.

Once I do, I'll post videos on my YouTube Page

OK guys, so, Last year I started this Project, and it Sort-of Payed off.

I bought an engine with a Thrown Rod, I replaced the Rod, was doing some testing, and the Engine threw another Rod.

So I bought a Crate Engine and a Different Tranny, and Got it all sorted out, ready for Racing.

Went to a VERY HOT racetrack, Manual Fuel Pump, got only '1' pass down the Track, before Vapor Lock ruined my Season.

So this year, I'm getting more improvements done, and I'll be hitting the track even Stronger next Season.

I have "Toyota V8 Swap" videos on YouTube, if you're interested in seeing.

...Anyone know if Anyone's ever tried to Swap a different Differential into a Toyota One???

Could I use a Chevy 7.5", or a Ford, etc... Ring and Pinion set in my Toyota Axle?

Anyone ever tried it? Is it Possible? Direct fit, or does it require EXTENSIVE modding?

Anyone?

I wanna go with a Lower gear, for Higher Speed in my Racetruck, and I'm maxed out as far as Toyota Gears go...

Too bad; I have a pair of SBC to toyota 22re mounts bouncing around in front of the passenger seat for the last couple of years.

Common swap; I'm surprised you had to make a pair.

Anyway the toyota rear may not hold up to an SBC very well. I'm thinking you need a shortened 10 bolt or better still a 12bolt. You really don't have to go to the expense of a Ford 9".

I'm surprised you are having this much trouble. Maybe I'm too old.

I've got two 350's under the knife. a '92 stang, Monte Carlo, and an '88 4runner projects running. so If you need something just hollar.
