so yeahhh ..fresh painted cab this morning

although Tom lives in Cali , you saw the rust , so got busy with the undercoating

heat shields also installed , and working on the engine bay before lowering it onto the frame . replaced some old and dilapidated washer fluid hose

should look real perdy with blue fluid in there

and basically where we finished up the day

Did you use a regular undercoating or POR16/bedliner product? Build is looking great, thanks for sharing and pics

cab floor done with sound deadner .. we use "B-Quiet" it's a Canadian product , and I love it ..

also working on the floor mat , rubber (customer supplied , purchace from accmats.com ) . I have used there carpet and have been happy with the fitment , but this rubber mat is crap , imo , I have about 3-4 hours in to it now with a heat gun trying to get it to fit , and it just dosnt .

I know most of it would be "hidden" , but I'm not one to hide things , so we're X naying the rubber for carpet . - ORDERED

also working on the heating and air conditioning system .. All washed and cleaned + all new seals for the units and the ducts .

Thanks fellas .. I was hoping to have it completed by the end of Sept for my customer , but with a few set backs (paint and interior carpet) , this has been delayed .

so after checking out some carpets onlline , and realizing the wait , I decided to call my "interior guy" and do a CUSTOM piece . This is 10X's better I feel , and really what this truck desurves . Cost is not that much more then the online stuff , and this way I know it's right ! and fits ..

full underlay

and some new color going in .. not done just yet , but will be finished Monday

continued finishing up the engine bay today + got the A/C all back together

and on to the interior ..
Toms inner kick panels were old and cracking (like ALL of them) so I installed ours . These basically "hide" all of the electronics on the inner kick panels , wayyy nicer then the stock ones IMO

a little color , and drying overnignt

Is that shot with a single stage white or is it cleared? I've been toying with the idea of going white on my truck instead of black or graphite, but I see so many white paint jobs that have no dimension to them. That white has a nice wet look to it

it's base/clear code 040 super white .. with A topper on it , it's going to be very white , please people , help me convince Tom to add the BLUE stripes , It will bring the inside color out side , and look amazing

I have been searching for a pic with a white truck with the blue stripes like on my trekker , but can find one .. anyone have a pic ?

so the real only modification you'll need to do if you install our inner kick panels (other then trimming them to fit) .. and if you have A/C , is to extend a wire . Instead of cutting any wires , I just used some OE connectors and made a extension wire .... so now they fit perfect .

also , got the inner fender splash shields on

Toms base model didnt have tilt either , so I added that !!

also cleaned up and painted the headlamp mounts
headlamps were a little "clowdy" , so I polished those and also the stainless trim

and installed

I would agree that the white paint is too bright, and will need some kind of graphic to tone it down and give some depth to lines of the truck. Any good sign shop should be able to design and create a vinyl mask that one can apply and paint something awesome.

Where did you get the splash shields? You make? I've been looking for a set for my build, as the originals are toast. Nice kick panels and making a list to order in the spring

Hey Tom, DO THE STRIPES!!! Grey or blue on white would look great on that truck!

Corey, are the fenderliners just cleaned up really well or are you making those now and not telling me!?

impressive build again Corey. Did I miss something! the original picture of truck doesn't have sunroof. did u fab it in. And I totally agree. This truck needs the factory blue stripes. If it was mine I would. There is a picture of the factory blue stripes on white truck on page 15 of 1983 and earlier pictures, trucks alittle dirty, would post but don't know how.
