3.4 swap in Dallas/Ft. Worth

Hello everyone I'm new to the forum been lurking the past few months but decided to join. I've recently bought a 1989 toyota pickup with the 3.slow and would like to do a 3.4 swap. I'm not capable of doing the swap myself. Looked at ORS but they are close to 10hrs from me. I live close to the dallas/Ft. Worth area. Does anyone know of someone in that area who does or can do a 3.4 swap. My truck is a standard cab has a manual transmission, 2" body lift. From what I've read it is truck would be one of the easiest swaps to do (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm not opposed to buying the ecu harness from ORS. I would just like to be able to use someone or a shop that is a lot closer than ORS for the install. Thanks

I'd be up for it if you were closer to me. There have been swaps completed in front of someone's house in the snow! A shop is golden though.

Im from the DFW area but I don't know anyone to recommended. You might give Joey at the 4runner House in Garland a call and ask him if there is anyone he would recommend.

What are you going to do with the old motor and accessories?

I did give the 4Runner house a call. He said he was busy and didn't know of anyone who was capable. As many people that suggest the swap when searching online you would think there would be people around that do this. I don't know about my old parts yet. Looks like I might have to continue to use them. We will see. If I find someone that can do the swap I'll pm you and see what you need

Yea most people that do the conversion on their rigs do it themselves. Finding a shop or someone else willing to do it for you is going to be challenging. I have done various conversions on some of my rigs but could never see doing it for someone else because they are so time consuming and can be a PITA!

Kinda what I was figuring. I know it's suppose to be one of the easier conversions but it's still a conversion. Who knows maybe someone will turn up. Thanks for your reply

Just think of the cost of getting a shop to do it. Most charge 75-100 dollars per hour for normal service. Probably more for something like an engine swap. It's not hard to do it yourself just a bunch of little things.
