what brand are the spacers?
[quote=paynemw;51421796]
Nice 4Runner! I have a '99 Ltd, trying to keep it mostly stock (in appearance, anyway), but we'll see =) I just bought an XRC8 winch, and I'm going to try to make some kind of hidden winch mount. I need to post some pix somewhere.
My question: what brand are those spacers? Thanks!

based off what i saw when i was messing with my front bumper and its gonna be damned near impossible to put that winch in with the stock bumper.... id suggest either tube bumper by Addicted Offroad (he now makes one for the 3rd gen) or if your looking for a plate bumper I def suggest a perkins performance bumper or an ARB... Jason Perkins is a genius and knows how to make a real nice bumper.

thanks
OK thanks for the info. I might need those spacers when I mount my Sequoia/Tundra wheels.
I'm going to try to fit the winch and see how it goes. I agree that it probably won't fit, but I like the idea, especially when you consider the weight of an ARB is around 80 lbs.

Lookin good on the swingout, I'm starting to think about looking into getting one. Last wheeling trip at Evans, my spare which was up on my roof rack got too top-heavy and ended up sliding off my truck, with my rack. It was a huge pain to get all that back together being on the wet rocks while it was raining and such. Ended up losing one of the rack-to-rail pieces too, so even if I wanted my spare back up there, it wouldn't hold it without a new one. I'm sure Perkins would fab me up an add-on to my current bumper if I end up going with that decision!

I joined WATTORA so that I can start getting trips put together. The dude i wheeled with just PCS'ed to Ft. Campbell/101st Airborne so now Im back to a solo-wheeler (not the smartest idea). 1. Cody, when I worked with Jason I actually asked him about you and your truck because I actually got the information about Perkins from you. I brought my KMA swingout to Jason and asked him to fix it. He definately hooked it up. so he'll definately work with your current set-up (you'll have to verify) 2. Ride, I'm always down to wheel, don't knwo where maple valley is but i'm sure we can work something out.

Maple Valley is just outside of Renton, so just north of you really. I'm very tempted to get a Perkin's rear bumper one of these days, but over break my plan is to hit up Randy's R&P for the ARB install over the holidays.

it'll be a while before I chop anything. I almost hydrolocked my engine last week so my immediate concern is a snorkel, then I'll actually install gears/ and the e-locker. Then I'll tub the firewall and throw some 35s on. Here are some newer pictures

I havent been to either of those.. But the reason I was saying tahuya because there are some guys that have stock trucks that want to go with us. You can play in the rock garden out there at tahuya if you want. I can guide you through. lol

back in february my boy was moving from GA to AK and stopped by for a little bit en route. we just goofed around at the local kids play ground, nothing fancy.
the entrance to the spot
a little bit down the trail
me crossing through the "mud puddle"
then brian crossed... and well haha
then I pulled a full size chevy on 35's out to do a photo op at the bond
close up
and brian
a little adventure then wrong turn
and so...
had to use brian as an anchor to winch myself out
