..and yup...i've already been flagged down a time or two just as predicted

It must've been asked a million times before, but where do you work? Summit County or C-DOT maintenance? I completely forget.

I never thought about getting the factory paint, that's a really good idea!

I've never used a real spray gun, could I use a cheap HF gun (or something like that)? I will only be painting tube and maybe the flares, it doesn't need to be perfect.

My friend Cory owns a body shop, and has a top of the line mixing station. Why didn't I think of this, thanks for your input!

I work for Colorado Mountain Express, I spend my days working on E-350 vans.

That's great!

It's a really fun event, and the 4Runner will be right at home on Holy Cross and Chinamans!

I was farting around with old color chips at work and found yours; it has some copper pearl and two silver metallics in it. Looks really sweet in full sunlight; I forget the code but it's 4PT, 4P9 or something like that... it was used on 1999-2000 4Runners so it is a pretty rare color. Neat.

Now I wanna paint my truck like that maybe a bit darker and add some crystalline frost for extra "pop".

If you can't find the paint code for the fender flare trim color, Try the paint code from my truck. It is a Canadian two tone paint code for 1990 dlx pickup only. Base is a Dark Grey Metallic, But the middle color is a dark silver. trim code is 27L.

Good luck.

DirtCo... You don't understand how excited I am to see this thread! so you can def throw 35's with minimal/no rubbing. I run 34's on 3" of lift with no rub at full lock and tuck. I haven't tubbed or trimmed the fenders, even though that will happen before summers end. You just gotta sport the right bs and you'll be fine. if you rid yourself of the fender flares you can gain atleast an inch of clearance with trimming, and it will allow you the freedom to modify for bumpers. not sure if you've hashed out exactly what suspension you go with, but I'd highly suggest the stiffest of coils to help with the weight, and for some reason the OME stiffies are short, so finding an alternate rear coil is ideal to maximize the height you're gonna want. good luck man, and I'm stoked to see what you come up with!

I heard coils from a fj cruiser gives you 2 inches of lift but that was drunk talk about a year ago if I remember right. Buddy at 4wp and I were brainstorming one night super late into the morning. J really dig the build!

Yeah, it's under the driver's seat. It was a tight fit, but it worked.

Thanks, I'll try

So far I'm happy with it, but I need to lift the 4Runner and wheel it before I can really decide. I'm sure it will work great!

When I bought the 4Runner it was an overcast day; it had everything I wanted but I wasn't thrilled about the color. After I saw it a couple times in the sunlight I really started to like it. It's a cool color!

Thanks for the info, I might have a couple questions for you once I get to the bumpers and sliders!
