ok, background. been into wheeling for 15+ yrs. iv had samurais, and yota trucks. a couple months ago i bought a 96 4runner that had a run in with an 18wheeler for $750. crushed the driver side door jamb pretty good. i bought it without hearing it run, but the guy swore it did when parked 2+ yrs before. my intentions was to pull the 3.4 and use it in my 94 ext cab. fast foward to present day.....i put a fuel pump in and it cranked right up, and it drove straight. so i pulled the jamb back out, i still have to pull the b pillar about another 1/2". put a door and fender on it. pulled the factory bumpers, running boards, and plastic flares, etc. i just ordered a set of 32x11.50 bfg t/a km2's. its been a long time since i did a build up on a forum, so bear with me while i refresh my memory on uploading pic, etc.

so skip forward a lil, i made a plate with attachment points and pulled the jamb out, and put a door and fender on it.

so i played around near the house, building my confidence in it it since i put the fuel pump in, and got it running. 2+ yr old gas sux! low rpms is fine, if you roll hard into the throttle, it sputters, and you can smell the aged fuel.

sooo, the door and fender i bought were both off of newer models, which meant the fender flare, and lower door trim had the clips which required holes through the panels. soo, i welded all the holes up, and stripped the running boards, flares, and the rest of the unneeded panels off of it

i pulled what was left of the mangled rear bumper off of it, and decided to drive it for a week back and forth to work to help burn out the 3/4 tank of fuel out. i forgot how much i liked the 4runners

at this point i decided i'm gonna make this into the #cheaprunner. gonna try to build a cheap, but capable trail vehicle/wheeler, as well as a daily driver back and forth to work. very hard for me to do, it usually starts this way, and ends up a cut up trailer queen. so far im in for $915, not too bad i also added a couple stickers to set the mood for the build

i wanted a roof basket for the #cheaprunner, to mount the highlift jack and the pare tire to...... soo i picked up some 1/2" pipe and some 16 guage plate, and some hammertone black rattle can paint. i ended up with just under $100 in the basket. total soo far $1015?

thanks terrys87, doesnt look like there is much traffic on here. im used to the old suzuki forums being busy all the time anyway, the score for today........ a factory elocker and 2 elocker ecu's from the local pullapart. $86

The pullaparts have a set price on individual parts. Every once in a while I luck up on a deal. So far the door, fender, and elocker have all came from pull apart. Iv gotta check and see what gear is in my #cheaprunner and what gear is in the elocker. The elocker has the factory pink on the pinion nut, anyone know which gear that is?
