so very true mickey, so i guess it is just the coolest thing in the history of the world that comes with a remote and that i can control, b/c women certainly aren't that way and patty likes to do her own thing no matter who's behind the wheel.

That looks pretty cool. One thing concerned me a little, though:
It looks an awful lot like a '90 or '91 2 door 4Runner. how could they have produced it in the early '80s?
THIS KIT PRODUCED IN THE EARLY 80'S (KIT NO.: 4217)

I saw one on eBay a month or so ago that was already built but was missing something and didn't work. I forget how much they wanted for it but I almost bought it anyway. That would be too cool to have in perfect running order!

Hey guys that kit is well worth that money. The reason it's so expensive is it has real axles, real transmission, real suspension, ect. It's all built exactly like a real truck out of metal and no plastic. I've seen this before. There's U-joints in the drivelines even. The craftsman ship is amazing if it's the same as the one I have seen before.

Tamiya made a kit that was called the Bruiser. That was the only kit that is now defunct that had real leafsprings and tranny, diffs, and stuff like that. Do a search on Ebay for a Tamiya Bruiser and see what you come up with. Much better quality than that Kyosho kit. Although both are really hard to get parts for. More of a "put it on a shelf" type thing.
There are other kits out there that have leafsprings and stuff. I believe Tamiya is currently making a kit, maybe the Jauggernaught, or something like that, and it has all that stuff too, just monster truck style. I'm sure that there are Lexan bodies of 4runners out there that can be purchased. Try Bolink or Parma. Both companies make killer Lexan bodies that you can paint yourself!

Yeah the bruiser is the truck to get. Perfect for guys like me, cuz it comes with the Toyota Hilux body. Those NIB (new in box) are worth well over $900. They are impressive, 4WD, full metal frame, leafs, but most important is a working transfer case. You actually shift it with the controller. Here's another cool toy toy

Its a Toyota 4Runner, 2nd gen, and further along hes got a toyota landcruiser. Both fit in the palm of your hands!

Ebay and www.towerhobbies.com
The cool trucks to look at are:
Tamiya Clodbuster (monster truck, 4WD, 4WSteering)
Clodzilla 1, 2, and 3 or the Thundertech chassis (modified clodbuster for rockcrawling/racing)
Tamiya TXT-1
Tamiya Pajero (solid rear, IFS, like our toys, RTR)
Traxxas E/T Maxx (e= electric, t= gas, all out speed and insane jumping capabilities, RTR)
The RTR means ready to run, you have a radio and electronics, and all else required is the batteries, glue for the tires, and paint for the body. The other trucks require radio and electronics, unless an ebay auctioneer says they are including them. Ebay is the best route, you can save some serious $$$. Going for brand new everything can run up to $600-700 depending on a kit, get it on ebay and you will usually shell out $350 for that same stuff used.
Check out the magazine RC Car Action next time you're in a shop, or check out www.rccaraction.com in the mean time, they have a forum just like this one, only more teenagers
