Yet another 5VZ swap q.

Yet another 5VZ swap q.
I've been doing a BUNCH of research on the 5VZ swap.
Basically I hav efigured that I would be a fool not to do the 5VZ swap.
I can do the 5VZ swap for about the same money as rebuilding my 3VZ...
SO....
I found a couple of 5VZ's locally.
Both came from 2000 4Runners
Both had auto's behind them
One of them has 56k (low miles for where I live) miles and is 1100 complete.
The other has 116k and is 950 complete.
Both have pilot bearing holes.
My truck is a manual.
Now if I got one of these motors, I know I will need a pilot bearing, flywheel and a clutch setup for the 5VZ.
I also know I will need the ECU from a manual tranny truck.
I am planning on getting the ORS wiring harness.
I also know that ORS says that you need to get a motor from a manual to use in my manual, but they don't go into much detail except for the fact that SOME of the auto motors don't have the pilot bearing hole and SOME do, and that there are some differences in the ECU.
Is there a major difference in the wiring?
Or will it simply be less of a headache to wait until a manual 5VZ turns up?

The plugs on the wiring harness from a 3.4 Auto will not fit a 3.4 Manual ECU
But you could get a Harness from a Manual to work . My vote get the complete motor and harness from a donor truck with a manual.

I am in the middle of the swap with auto harness and ecu the wiring I am doing my self mine is a 96 from a 4runner I am needing info also but I will try to help you all I can I have heard that the pilot hole you are talking about is rare to find one without it so you should be ok there. The harness, you can get a manual harness and ecu and plug it in or use the auto setup I know it can be done. If you are getting a ORS harness it should be for a manual and you will be fine.

I got a auto 2wd 5vze, swapped the flywheel (grind down the old 3vz bolts about 1/4 inch)
yes use 5vz pilot and 3vze throwout bearing. I got a MT harness and MT ecu from a 99, which I recommend as 99 and newer only have one cat, so is cheaper easier to set up when/if passing referee check.
I believe thats all I had to do, the yard who sold me the setup might have changed the intake but not sure.
