Alright guys, got a question for you. I'm going to be putting on some new tires in approximately 10k miles (which won't take me long at all) and I'm thinking about going with an all terrain tire. Granted, the only off roading I do is light duty stuff when I go camping, but they seem worth the investment and look so much better than regular highway tires. It's been forever since I've driven a truck with A/Ts so I need some opinions. Is the ride of today's A/Ts much different than a highway tire such as the Bridgestone Deuler H/Ls that I've got now? Road noise does not bother me. In fact, I like it. Whatcha think? Later.

I think a/t's would be fine. They'll be a little noiser than street tires, but the tradeoff is worth it IMO. If you happen to get in a tight spot (rain or whatever) while camping, the at's could the the difference b/w stuck and not. Just food for thought, if you ever go offroad. Even as simple as running off the road on the highway can sometimes get a 2wd stuck if it's wet and slick.

I'd put mud tires on a 2WD You need all the help you can get.

Then again, I just like mud tires.

I have Bridgestone Dueller A/T's on my 2WD and love them. The look is 100 times better and like the previous posts said, the little extra grip has helped me out alot!

Why not?? It really helps the looks of your rig. My duller revos were pretty darn quiet too. Yeah, they might not look quite as good as the bfg's but they are 500x better in the wet on pavement. Actually, the revos were one hell of a onroad tire. Between the revos and HD OME and Bilsteins I had my truck rode like it was on rails and would hands down out preform lots of cars.

If you end up with the dullers, get the revos. I regret getting the non-revos every day (espcially when it rains)

I've driven with BFG All-Terrains and I don't remember there being any noise. Just as quiet as a street tire I think, that hum comes from the M/T. And the BFG all-terrain is a huge help offroad, and gives that aggressive look.

I agree. I just bought both brands last Friday. The Revos are a great tire. I would pick them for all around duty. I also bought the BFG A/T's and love them. Go with the Revos, they have really impressed me.

As long as you go with radial at's. They cost more but they suple casing riders beter and you will get better milage on the road.

AT's come in many flavors, from mild to agressive. I don't see any reason not to use them on a 2wd.

2nd vote for the Revos. I have them on my 2WD and I really like them. They are great in the rain also. Check the link in my sig for some pics.

I voted no just because I dont see the point unless you do venture off road sometime(nothing serious). If you can get an A/T that last as long as a road tire I say go for it though.

Look at the Michelin LTX A/T's. They look much more agressive than the M/S and well they are Michelins!

Bump for the Michelins. My dad ran those tires for 90k miles! NINETY THOUSAND! Great tires, no heavy offroad service, smooth supple ride.

People put 22" rims on their Runners so putting A/T tires on a 2wd truck can't be as bad.

I've put M/T's on one of my 2wd trucks, and they work great...even in the snow where you might need it more. Work out alot better with wet traction and mud too obviously

I've ran'en on mine for 5 years. No problems and not loud at all. First set was Discovery and second and best are Wild Country. Both were 31x10.50, makes it look like a 4x4.

I don't think you'll regret it. I'd shoot for Nitto Terra Grapplers. I had those on my 3rd Gen and loved them. The only reason they're not on this truck is because they don't make them in a 17 thats 33" inches tall.

Easily the best tires I have ever owned. Not much road noise, great wet traction, clean themselves (from mud) and wear extremely well.
