Im still debating wheels etc. and i want something for my 98 tacoma that will be as close in as possible while allowing me to run 33x12.5's. I've heard of people running 3.75" backspacing with a lil rubbing but i dont know. I dont want my truck to look, excuse my racism. but all mexican'd out w/the stuck out wheels real far etc. What's the best backspacing i could do w/o achieving this look lol

I like when truck tires stick out a little bit...it looks good. I dont think that backspacing would make it look all vato style at all.
I think it looks weird if your truck/car is LOWERED and then has the stuck out wheels. But, if its on a truck thats higher or stock, it makes it look more aggressive...

GOD DAMN YOUR GUY'S RIDES ARE BADASS! So, Dread, i'd stick out about a half inch more than yours? If so i'll probably need some fender flares to make it look decent like yours does. MALLRAT! yours is ˟˟˟˟˟ing awesome! Do you have anymore pics, especially one straight on or straight behind so i can get a better idea?

I'm debating what to do about wheels too right now, and backspacing for 315/75R16's. Does anyone have any solid evidence on what backspacing I can run to clear stock upper a-arms and limited fender flares at the same time?

the law says that if any part of the contact patch of the tread sticks out past the fender then you are in violation. I am running 33x12.5s on -19mm offset (equals a bit less then 3.5" backspacing I think) and on my '93 I stick out about 2" on each wheel well. Not exactly legal but I also trimmed the fenders so finding flares that fit without spending a fortune on bushwackers is hard to do...

OK, here's the pics. MT Classic II's 15x8 with a stated BS of 3 5/16. The BS actually measures about 3 5/8 to 3 3/4. The stock 15x7 alloys measured 4 1/4 BS. So, at the wheel, I'm 1.5" wider per side. I'm running Bushwacker extend a flares to stay legal.

P.S. Are all the stcok wheels the 4 1/4" backspacing that you mention regardless of year on the 4runners?
