Worn Panhard Bolt
I have been getting a cluncking noise from the rear. It seemed like it was coming from the lower panhard bolt. I removed the bolt shook my runner and the sound was gone. The bolt is slightly worn in the center. How tight should the bolt fit inside the metal grommet insert on the panhard? Also has anybody else ever had this problem?

You would think that I would learn to post pics by now :pat: Here are a couple. My digital camera is old so it doesn't take the best pics.

Tight Fit
When I put mine back together it was a real tight fit and I had to whack the bolt with a hammer a few times to get it through. I haven't had any clunking either. From those pics it doesn't look like any serious wear is occurring. Perhaps you could put it back in, tighten it down, see if it clunks again, and then look for a slightly bigger bushing. Do you have all the spacers in there like Schaefer suggests?

I have taken it apart and retightened the bolt a couple of times and the same thing happens. It is tight in the bracket on the sides with the nut and bolt, it is when you rock the vehicle side to side that it makes the noise. I think tommorrow I am going to the hardware store to find a bolt that fits tighter.

I've had the clank after doing some work back there, turned out it wasn't tight enough. No wear on the bolt though. The advice I got here was IIRC 60lb/ft factory setting and it fixed it.
