WoooHooo!!!! Big Score for me!!!

I just did a search on car-part.com for a rear axle for my truck.
I scored an ENTIRE rear axle from a 1991 2wd truck that has 4.30 gears!!!!
They're located in Leominster, MA (about an hour from where I live).
Guess where I'm going friday!
I'll have to see what size diff it is when I get there, but that doesn't really matter too much, since I'm getting the whole thing.
Oh, ya, price? $150!
I am soooo excited!
I can't wait until I get it in.
Driving around is going to be sooooo much nicer
Just thought I'd share.
Todd

The yard is ET Cote and Sons .
I think it's off a 1-ton model.
That's the only reason I can think of it having such a high (numerically) axle ratio - for a 2wd that is.
I made sure it was a single wheel axle too
I have a feeling it's a 8" rear axle (as opposed to 7.5" which most of them got).
I think that means more locker options for me
I hope to get the axle code off the truck to find out for sure.
How far are you from there?
Care to meet up?
Todd

Well Loeminster is a ways for me.. I am deep south central Mass. Thing along the lines of the CT boarder and pretty much dead center of the state... Now I am up there quite a bit for work so I do know the area somewhat.. Good Luck, BTW.. I thought all the 1 ton's were dual wheel??

Well, it may be a v6 auto (sluggomatic) cab-chassis type of deal.
Don't know for sure. All I care about is the lug pattern (5 on 4.5), where the springs bolt to (top or bottom), and the ratio in the diff (4.30).
I should be a little overgeared compared to stock ratio/tire size.
But with my sluggomatic, that's good
I should be able to hold highway speeds better, even though my speedo will read faster than I'm actually going.
