Wooo Hooo! S/C Installed!
I'm sooo pumped, I installed my S/C by myself yesterday. I took my time and it took about 5 hrs. Took me over an hour just to figure out the vacuum routing, but I apparently got it right on my first try. Still need to clean the hoses up though, figured I drive around to see how everything holds up before I put the final touches on. I pulled off the whole thing for under $700 bucks. That included the used charger, replacing all the nose drive bearings myself, oil, etc.
I definitely notice a big difference in power, but I am getting a little cough when I punch it, and the tranny seems a little confused on where to shift. I figure it'll take the ECU a couple hundred miles to adjust. The sound it makes is a litlle more weeny sounding that I was expecting, I was thinking "turboish", not "bee stuck under the hoodish" but its still cool.
Just thought I'd share !
Now I gotta get that tranny cooler installed...

I was going to tell you .. I believe you can get the brackets for the OEM (hella micro de) foglights and use those to put your fogs back in the stock location on the 99+ bumper. If not .. it shouldn't be too hard to fab up a small bracket .. the bolt holes are already there

My wife said it now sounds like a remote control car!

You could try the ISR mod to give a more throaty sound if you haven't already.

When we get back from Europe this summer, that's going to be the first thing on the list. After another putting another 100 miles on the cough is definitely not getting better, or worse. Just a little annoying when you stomp it REAL hard.
sdastg1 - I'll try to get some posted tonight, got the camera with me today.
MTL_4runner - Just curious, I heard that ISR or deckplate with S/C and stock fuel system could cause more lean out, so I have my deck plate in right now. Would I be safe to open it up again?? It does sound pretty good with the dual exhaust and all, but I'll try anything to make it sound a little better.
Thanks Guys!!
