Winter Road Trip

Well my friend and I are going on a road trip from Los Angeles to Portland, Oregon this winter and I know for a fact that the climate is gonna be a tad bit different up there than it is down here.
We decided to take my truck over his gas guzzling 1987 F-250, so I was wondering, what kind of checklist should I make for such a trip, regarding my truck? I know for a fact I'm going to need chains...if anyone wants to name off a thing or two I'd really appreciate it....like I said, I'm gonna make a check list of things so fire away!....

Working wipers and new blades.

You may hit a little snow around the border but I wouldn't stress about the conditions.

newheeler is right, except for the I-5 Siskiyou summit (4310') at the border, everything else is under 2000'. Once you get North of Roseburg, its all valley till Portland.

This week we are supposed to have a pretty good storm blowing into Oregon, don't know when your trip is, but I would go to http://www.tripcheck.com/RoadCams/roadcams.htm first, just to check. This is the webpage for the hwy cameras, the ones you want to check out are the two camera's below the "CLICK HERE for Medford map" right at the boarder.

Hope you like rain!!!

And make sure your washer fluid is FULL. Keep some extra!
