I am having problems with my back windows fogging up and was thinking of trying some of that anti-fog spray they use for hockey visors. Maybe they even have stuff like that for autos??
Does anyone else have this problem?? Its all the rear windows except for the hatch window....just use the rear defrost for that one.


I already tried the not breathing thing, so no need to suggest that one.

There's the Rain X Anti-Fog. You can try that... it works pretty good.

I posted about this a while ago, when someone else had a fog problem.... but they said the rainx stuff was bad for you? like unhealthy?

anyone else know why? I've used the stuff before, but I don't want to be inhaling crap inside the rig ya know? My pups don't need that crap either!

I have my rig in a nice warm garage, compared to what it is outside, so when I go to work early in the morning I often get initially fogged up windows from the temperature difference, except for the rear of course with the defroster. The best solution I have found is...

Since I have vent visors and don't have to worry about rain coming in, I just crack my second row windows just a tad to help equal out the temperature difference a bit and the fog usually goes away by the time I'm out of the neighborhood. I don't know that I would rub any kind of chemical on the inside of my windows, not even RainX. By the time I get going good down the highway the engine has warmed up and the heater is going good so the cold air coming in those windows isn't so nippy on my neck! Within 5 minutes, the windows are all nice and clear!

i had leaves clogging my air system and it was making the weirdest crackling noise and the windows would fog all the time.

then i got it all cleared out (for 20 buck$!) and it hasnt been a problem since.

try clearing that out.

If you arent already doing this...it will help significantly:

Circulate the air from outside -> in (so thats NOT the circle arrow on your heat/air controlller). Also enable A/C even if you are blowing heat as it will "condition" the air and help with all the moisture build up on your windows.

Try using your air conditioner, it will dry out the air.

It may sound funny, but in many newer vehicles the air is automatically turned on when you defrost. It doesn't affect the amount of heat coming out much from what I can tell.

I tried the rain-x on my snowmobile helmet visor. Worked OK but not great, didn't last long. Never tried it in a vehicle, never really needed to.

Oops, I wasn't paying attention, PoBoy brought up A/C as well.

Thanks for the help guys, but I don't think the vents are causing the issue. Its only on the 4 rear side windows(no vents there).
I tried opening the back windows a bit and I also have the vent visors. It helped minimaly but did not help the very back side windows. I will try opening right away next time and see if that works.

I guess not many people are using anti-fog sprays? I think I will try some of the stuff they use on the Hockey visors and see if that helps.
