window tint prices??
I am going to get the windows tinted on my 94 extra cab pickup. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what a reasonable price is to pay so I don't get screwed. Also, if you have any other things I should look for, that would be great. I live in UT, does anyone know the tint laws? Thanks for all the help.

The lowest that i've been quoted for my 4Runner was 180 at 20% tint and that was a decent deal in my opinion. Other places have quoted me around 250. Most states have a 35% law i think, at least here in Kansas thats what it is. For your pickup i would say anywhere under 200 would be a good deal, probably more like 150 though. But then again im just going by situations in kansas. Dont know if it would be the same there.
I also wouldnt tint it below 20%. Maybe 10 or 12% in the rear windows but id go with 20%

In NJ you really can't. If the cops don't bother you, inspection will.
Or it may matter by location. I know the 5 boroughs can have tints on front windows. They tried to make it illegal, because the police can't see if they have a gun pointed at them.

Prices have gone up since I last had any car windows tinted back in '96;I had all my Eclipse windows done for $120 with a lifetime warranty. I recently got a quote for my two fronts at $80 from the same shop.

I just ordered mine from ebay. tintguys on ebay can precut all your windows to an exact fit and then ship it to you in a roll. It only cost me 50 bucks for a complete tint. They will let you pick the darkness and they use good quality tint with metalic dyes that will never fade to purple. doind it yourself is easy especially on a second gen cuz no windows are double curved (which causes bubbles).

I had my front two windows tinted 35% for 60. No warranty though because its illegal to have any tint on front windows out here. I think it took them like 15-20 minutes to do the fronts.
