which winch for my tjm?

I have a t-17 and was in the market for a winch. What are ya'll using other then the warn m-series? Should I look no farther then a warn? Thanks

i would get a non integrated solenoid winch rate at 9k or more.

4runner is a fatty

if you have the cash, why not get a warn 9.5xp?

otherwise a M8000 would be perfect. Between these two there is the warn xd9000.
You could also go for the 9.0rc, it's got an aluminum fairlead and synth rope already in there, so you wouldn't have to switch them out. Drawback is that it's only got 50' of rope in there so you'd need an extension.

Does the winch need to mount to a plate behind the T15/17? I have a T15 and am curious.

On the steel ones no, the winch bolts directly into the inside of the bumper. You only need a plate with the aluminum bumpers.

I have a M8000 on my T15. Hasn't let me down so far.

I've read good things about T-Max winches. That's what I will probably go with when the time comes. (Sorry I don't have actual experience - hopefully soon)
