will they rub?
I have a 1996 tacoma 4x4 with no lift. I want to put some aftermarket wheels on it and 31x10.50 tires. I am having a hard time finding any rims that are 15X7 (and will work with manual hubs) for my truck because I am not ready to lift my truck. I was wondering where and how bad the tires will rub if I go with the 15X8 rim and a 31x10.50 if I don't lift? I am open for any suggestions that you may have and thanks in advance.
p.s. anyone know of any nice looking 15X7s?

It won't rub, just make sure you get the correct backspacing on the wheels. Something between 3.75 and 4.5 will work.

If you're gonna lift the truck eventually, you should go ahead and get 15x8 rim. These will let you fit the larger tires once you do lift it. I like American Racing wheels.

Are the factory 31X10.50s mounted on a 7" or 8" rim?

I went with a 16x8 and 285s and 4.25BS but that was with a 1"BL and front Downeys to even the front to the rear. It rubbed at full lock and good sized bumps on road and articulation offroading.
I would go to where you're thinking of buying the stuff and ask them to test fit one for you. You should be able to tell then what will happen.

Before I lifted mine I had 31x10.50 on 15x7 (w/4.24' backspacing I think, American Racing Outlaw II's) and never had a problem with rubbing. I don't see why there would be any problem on 15x8's with the same backspacing. Cause its the same tire width either way you go.
