Will a 84 4wd truck wheels fit on a 83 2wd

I can have some donated (read free

) I just want to make sure wheels will bolt up. Mine is 5 lug. The tires are 31 inches.

Nope. 4x4s are 6 lug, 2wd are 5 lug.

How hard would it be to change the complete rearend?

Not hard at all... if you want to lift the rear 6" at the same time. A little bit harder to keep it all the same. 4wd trucks are spring-over-axle (SOA), 2wd are spring-under axle (SUA). To swap in a complete 4wd axle, you have to weld on a couple new spring perches under the axle.
