wierd sounds from the front
Well I just picked this 4runner up about a week ago and have noticed a few issues. When It has a 2.5 inch lift with 31in thornbirds so the ride is faily rough and has a good amount of vibrations. Anyways. When im going about 30-35mph I can hear some rattling sound from the front wheels (it sounds like a coffee can with bolts jingling in it) thats the best way I know how to describe it. but it only does it at that certain mph and then goes away. Also when I'm driving on the highway from 55-70mph there is a fairly noisy vibation coming from the front driverside. at first I thought it was a bad bearing but when I go over 70 mph it goes away. It sounds like a loud rotating vibration. Im not sure what kind of parts have been put on this truck. All that I know is that it has a 2.5in revtek lift, im not sure what other parts it was given(if any) to compliment the lift. Sorry fo the lack of info, but Im really clueless. Let me know if you have any ideas.
Thanks for your time
Patrick.

BUT
the carpet could use a cleaning. the hood/roof is oxidized and there is a dent in the driver side part of the bumper and a small dent on the front D/S bumper. it'll take some work to get it looking real clean. it was kind of an impulse buy. I sold my camaro and needed a car ASAP before school started and wasnt having any luck.

I havent seen any leaks at all from anywhere. I'm going to degrease everything engine/trans/diff once I get time and wait to see if anything appears, bc its pretty grimy
that actually seems like a damn good possibility. Thanks for the idea. I'll check that out.

Check your swaybar endlinks, bumper (tighten the bolts), the top washers on the front shocks, brakes, and uhh I think thats it.
Ive got so many damn noises coming from the front and rear end right now, im loosing my marbles.

yup, I know what you mean...I bought a Taco last month used, and now I was thinking that it would have been a better deal to lease a new one...I have spent all weekends getting all the maintenance caught up on this thing. Previous owner was not that good about keeping up with it.
I am now trying to get rid of an engine vibration in idle while in gear.

I got it for 6k. 112k miles. the engine/tranny seem perfect to me. the engine is extremely quiet. We thought the car died the first time I came to a complete stop bc it was so quite. and the trans shifts great.

Forgot to mention that you might be better off just getting a new carpet from JC Whitney, my interior smells and I need to do something with the seats...
