Width or Height Limiting Factor on Stock 4Runner?
Howdy guys,
What is the major limiting factor on fitting tires on a stock 4Runner; is it the height or width of the tires that causes issues?
I know the recommended max size for 3rd gens is 265/75x16's (31.9x10.5); Interco makes their TrXus in a 255/85x16 (32.7x10.10); almost 1" taller and .5" narrower...and I like 'em!
So which is it? Do larger tires rub on the vertical axis on the wheelwell uppers, or on the horizontal on frame/wheelwell inners?

The simple answer, both. But you can run them if you dont mind trimming a little and using a bfh.
They will most likely rub on the pinch weld and the frame when fully turned, at least that is where mine rubbed at. And when you flex your gonna have to trim a part of your rear bumper.
If you don't mind trimming and using a hammer to clearecne some parts of the truck I would go for it.
