Why I can't use Motive's Power Bleeder And shots of my compressor

I was asked for pics... this is why I cannot use the power bleeder... the Brake tank is too big... and has many hoses coming out... Im going to have to fab something or talk with motive...

On the flip side... unlike most of you, the other side (the passenger side) where the ABS stuff usually lives, there was a BIG space for my Viair 450c... so I really didnt have to relocate anything but a small relay box... (Pic at bottom)

Guess I can leave my CO2 tank at home and just steal air from you! How long did it take for the install?

You can use the power bleeder with your master cylinder...

What you'll need is a few bolts to go thru the cap and add a few washers with nuts, this will supply a place for the hook bolts to clip to. Get a longer chain to wrap around then attach the threaded side of the bolts with washers to tighten the assembly.

Does that cap on the resivore twist off? If so Motive has a twist off cap that is used on European cars like Mercedes. That might fit it.

Or, you could go buy a new cap from the dealer and install a fitting in it that you can attach the hose to.

David: Honestly? like 3 days... lol... I kept on needing to run out and get fittings... and since the chunk of hose I.D. was not standard and no one had barbed fittings for that size.. thats why you can see on the tank theres a black hose... I bought out the local air supply store of barbed fittings and was short by one... so I just bought an extension hose from sears and got the adapter to use it for what I needed...

I also need still to replace that gauge with a liquid filled one... then after that, after a few days ill run through the system and check for leaks...again.. after things settle... not to mention to make sure my hose didnt melt anywhere....

The bottom of the tank should have a water float or a manual way of purging the water from the tank. If you live in a colder climate all that water will freeze; that includes any moisture sitting in the air compressor. Over a period of time the tank will fill up with water to the point the compressor will be damaged by the hydraulic action of the water.
If you ever walked by a large semi tractor you will know what I'm talking about. The sudden air release from the braking system vents the water accumulated in the system. The brake system also has a dryer to eliminate ALL moisture.

4paws: See the last pic? theres a brass fitting on the bottom of the tank.. thats a drain fitting...
