Whos Pulled all the carpet in their 4Runner
Has anybody pulled the carpet out of their 4Runner yet? Aksing because i am thinking about it. Trucks becoming to much of a trail rig and frankly, wet carpet smells and is much harder to clean than a LinedX floor. Thoughts, experiences.....

My factory vinyl is out.... heavy duty all weather rubber mats from costco are in. I just spray down the mats when I clean it out. They cover enough of the floor that most people don't even notice I don't have carpet.
The truck has always been loud inside.... so I have no idea if the carpet/vinyl provided any sound deadening.
Someday I hope to coat the interior in some kind of bed liner. Someday.

I've never pulled my 4runners capet, but I've done it in other cars. Its not that hard. Just have to remove the seats and a few panels. I think a lined'x interior would be a good idea for a trail rig. You could probably install some drain plugs too, like the jeeps have.

I've pulled mine out:
Piece of cake. Just remove the seats, trim pieces surrounding the carpet and other misc pieces and the carpet just pulls right up. I removed mine to lay down a layer of sound proofing. Check out my Profile in my sig for more pictures.
Edit: Putting down lineX or a similar product is not a bad idea either...granted I woundn't do it on a DD, but def something I'd consider on a trail rig. I think there's been a couple members here that have done this very thing.

My pulled his carpet out of his cherokee when he flooded the inside with a few inches of water in a huge mud pit. I think he put linex down, but that floor gets HOT, especially on the passenger side.

I yanked the carpet out of my 2nd gen when I 1st got it..... Then I put new carpet in. The floor was way too ugly to leave naked, so I covered it up. The old carpets were all rooted out, and nasty from the previous 7 owners, and God knows what else.
