Who says you can't have fun in a stock 4Runner?
Recently I was up at my cabin deep in the Canadian Shield, and decided to do some exploring. I've been putting off my lift amd tire's for sometime now...I always see pics people post with there modified 4Runner's....and I just wished mine would be complete already. Here's a few pics from 4x4 in the bush
We had a private road build 8years ago. Before we had a road we would have to take a train to the lake. We are located in a rather remote area in Canada and often fallen tree's come across the road.
One area of the road branches off to an old hiking trail that leads to an abandoned WW2 airfield. It was used as an emergency landing zone in case when comming back to Canada the planes would have somewhere to land in the dense forest.
Then well climbing some hills I came across this old foundation in the them middle of the forest. I believe its from an old Ranger station or Trapper's cabin.
Then I found an old cement foundation from an old hydro station or Ranger tower.
Anyway...thats all I have uploaded...hopefully I get my lift on soon and i'll be able to explore different area's that I'm not able to do as of now.

The funny thing is that you can tell by the tree transitions! Its always funny driving to Weinerpeg since once you hit the ON/MB border the tree line changes instantly.

My stock Runner takes me everywhere I need. out here. But I know my limits-she is my daily driver.
My lift is here also and will be installed in a couple of weeks or so.
Not to be stupid, but here goes, I don't understand what is meant by the "shield" reference, is that the mountainous area of the Rockies or ?
Perhaps I am thinking too literally....
