Who really enjoys the mud???
I just got back from a day of wheeling that was pretty much all mud bogging. Either you get stuck in the gooey crap, or when you're trying to get out, you start sliding down until your inclometer reads almost 40 degrees and you freak out!! Or you get mauled by mosquitos, or you just get all smelly and narsty, along with your interior. Or there's the risk of hydrlocking because wherever there's mud, there's water. Either way I think it sucks.
Maybe it's because I'm from Arizona, but I thought I was used to the mud cuz I wheel in Attica, Indiana a lot. But today I realized that I hate the mud.
I miss the southwest......

ya, mud is pretty lame in my opinion.
i try to keep out of it whenever possible, its just a pain to clean and its really not all that fun to go through it. it especially sucks when it smells like poo, thats definitely no fun.

I'm a huge fan of the mud...although, as you have said, it does get everywhere and it IS a pain to clean up I think its worth it. The only downside I can see is the water getting in places it shouldn't or the mud itself, such as seals or gaskets or anything like that. But as long as you clean it off really well afterwards it should be ok.
MUD ROCKS! :rockband:

The only thing I like about the mud is pulling out non-yotas. Hahaha. I think it's all fun, crawling/mudding/exploring, it's all part of the 4wheel drive advantage IMO.

Mud is great sometimes.... gotta mix it up. I live in the bush and many of our "4x4 trails" are ATV trails so I don't care much about my paint anymore anyway. My truck has to be versitle and do it all. Ha ha, up here if you can't do mud you just have to stay home for a month or so every spring cause "roads" are mud

We have this little thing out here called "bentonite". If you've never been in it when it's wet, then you don't know what mud is. I would argue that being basically pottery clay that it is the slipperiest mud out there. This stuff will sneak up on you at the wrong time and scare the living crap out of you. Add to that, when sufficeintly wet it turns into a clay slip that penetrates EVERYTHING then dries into a near ceramic.
It is usually just exposed on hillsides or in depressions that reach through to the right layer. Sometimes you will run into long stretches of it. You'll be going along in plain old "desert mud" which is mostly sand with very little organic matter then you run into this stuff. If you get in the right place, you can hardly even stand on it and it piles on to whatever it lands on and will not release. I've had it get so heavy on mudflaps that the weight tears the mudflap off.
So, my western Colorado answer: NO! I don't like mud.

mud
I love mud! I am from Louisiana so all there is to off-road in is mud. I havent taken my 4runner down there yet, but I took my 2 wheel drive CR-V through hell like mud pits. The worse part is the 2 hours of cleaning afterwards. Here is a picture of my cr-v high centered shooting up an oil spill like spout of mud.
