whinning sound
My 96 taco 2.4L 4 cylnder is making a new sound. maybe the cold. but its new. it sounds like a belt whinning. it has a pattern thats why i thought it was a belt. i think i need to replace some anyways but before i spend to much time on it does this sound familar to anyone. to me it seems like its coming straight ahead when im driving

Need more info. Does it do it at a stand still or just when moving? What kind of pattern are you speaking of? Does it do it at high and low rpms? Does it change pitch with the engine?
