wheres the MAF on the 22re

When I run my truck for a while shut it off, and then restart it the rpms are reving at 500 rpms it feels like it going to stall. Also I think I will try to clean MAF senser but Iam not sure where it is.Help would be much apreciated, Merry Christmas Guys.

its the metal thingy on top of your air filter box with the hose going to your intake

22RE doesn't have a MAF, it does have an AFM

The metal thingy that bain described is the AFM. I think it stands for air flow meter.

Iam guessing it does not have one by the sounds of it. I don't have a toyota manual.

a lot of people don't know that one, i think there is a difference though

(i wouldn't know that difference, i'm a carb guy )

My truck does the exact same thing, I think it is the timing though. Ill let you know what it is once i figure it out.

afm aint dirty. could be fuel pump,f/p regulator,cold start timer,vac leak

I'd say leaky cold start injector. Oh and by the way it is not a MAF or AFM it is a VFM (Vain Flow Meter). It does not measure the air by using a pito tube but how far the vain inside is deflected. Just wanted to be picky.
