any suggestions on companies that would be able to supply a rebuilt 3.4? or should i just stick to the local junkyards? my ˟˟˟˟˟ 3.0 isn't quite dead but i am not thrilled with the lack of power she has.

i am not quite ready to do this financially but it is something that i am starting to look at. yeah i know i need the lotsa stuff other than the engine itselr. is the offroad solutions conversion kit worth it ? thanks for the link, that's awesome as it is 10 minutes away from me.

Use the search and I'm sure you will get a few (one I started).
No, I didn't do it myself I already had a 3.4L.

Personally I would just save up for a 3rd gen but we do love our rigs!

The 3.4 will bolt up to the existing tranny no prob. You don't need to get the trans as well. You should grab the ecu and the wiring harness as well. You will also need the oilpan and oil pan pick up to clear the IFS differential. You can scavenge them off the old engine though. The only problems will be exhaust and the fuel lines. The fuel lines can be moved easy and the exhaust can be made simply by any shop. Do it you won't be sorry. Look on www.bc4x4.com there is a guy there thats done this recently.
