When doing the deckplate mod, is it important to take that fuse out?

When doing the deckplate mod, is it important to take that fuse out?

is it important to take that fuse out? wouldnt it seem sthat once the chip is used to the open airflow, putting the plate on would mess it up? also im goign to request that anyone that comments please use a smile. please and thanks you

from what i've gathered, if you don't take the fuse out, it'll simply take the computer longer to register the difference of air flow, like tank or two of gas.
a friend of mine did the deckplate mod without pulling the fuse. his truck didn't explode.

i assume you're talking about the efi fuse (i think thats it), and when i've done the deckplate, i've taken it out for about 10-20 seconds and put it back in. i did this just bc other people say that it resets the efi memory and 'learns' your driving style with the new amount of airflow. i guess it might mess up the mixture if you put the cap on, but you don't need the cap unless you're crossing water or something. you wont want the cap on once you hear it without it anyway, lol.

The whole idea of the deckplate is so you can put it on and off as needed. Some guy's put the cap on before they head off road and then take it back off once they hit the highway. You would be resetting that fuse all the time.No reason to do that, it only takes a few seconds for the compu. to figure out it's getting less or more air. Mike
