Wheel and tire question!

quick question everyone!

i currently have the stock 16 inch rims with 265/70/16 tires. i want to put the gun metal sequoia 17 inch rims with 265/65/17 tires. are the physical dimensions of both these tires the same? will it throw my speedo off or get bad mpg?

i asked the toyota dealer if the sequoia wheels will fit my 00 4runner and they said it was okay...can anyone comfirm this? is the offset correct?

thanks!

Close enough:
265/70-16 = 30.606"dia
265/65-17 = 30.563"dia
The 17's are 0.14% smaller. Insignificant except that the 17" combo is undoubtedly lighter.

toy238 thanks for the helpful response, what benefits will the lighter 17 inch combo give me? Is the weight difference enough to make a difference?

Thanks! yotatech is awesome.

Lighter wheels = lower rolling resistance = better power and economy.
In reality, it probably won't be much, maybe not even measurable, but it is a step in the right direction.
