I am looking at some parts to do a manual hub swap. The owner of the parts suggested the bearings to be repacked, and it needs new upper ball joints.

Are the wheel bearings pressed in? What type of grease should i use to repack them? If they are pressed in should i just go ahead and get new bearings?

For the upper ball joints those are pressed in right? I am going to purchase new upper ball joints.

I just want to do the work once and not have something go wrong down the road.

If the bearings for the manual hub are anything like the stock bearings, they're sealed and cannot be "repacked".

thanks, so if the spindles have been sitting for a year or so (because of SAS) would you get new bearing and such?

A press makes replacing the ball joints easier but I did mine with a big vice, some tubing and a big cheater bar.
