Someone once told me how its done but I can't remember.

Is it something that I can do myself with a few supplies?

Go to a "paintless repair" place. They will hammer it out perfectly and is usually pretty cheap.
DIY usually messes it up worse if you dont really know what you're doing and have the right tools.

Someone mentioned dry ice a little while ago. Don't really know whether or not that works though...

i tried the dry ice trick and it didnt work for me.

paintless dent removal is the best. they can get to most of the door dings. some that are blocked, for example, by the side impact bar cannot be removed.

basically, they hook up a horizontal bar on your door. Next, they insert a vertical bar w/ an angled pointed tip. then they use the horiz bar as a lever to manuever and push out the dent w/ the vertical bar. sounds simple but it take a lot of practice and experience.

most people charge about $75-$100 per panel. a friend of mine talked w/ one of those guys who was working on a car in his work parking lot. he asked him if he was willing to do some work 'on the side' and he got 2 panels done for $100. just a suggestion.

Dry ice can definitely work. Check dry ice website for more information on dry ice and how to safely use it. But all you need to do is hold the dry ice on the center of the dent for a little bit, then remove it. After the surface heats up a bit more, apply again and again until the dent is gone.
