I would suggest Performance Products but someone mentioned having problems with them somewhat recently. You could try http://www.waag.com and see if there are local carriers.

OR if you have a runner that is compatible, check out TDiddy's thread, he's selling one for $100 + shipping. Depending on where you live, you might be able to snag this for 50% of new cost!

Bullbars are the way to go.

I had a Waag brushguard for a few months that I bought from another member. It was very sturdy with 4 points of attachment and one piece construction. For the price of your stock bumper, valance and brushguard you could have a TJM-17

The correct name is crap.

If you want to protect the front end and make your truck look tough, buy a real bumper. The TJM-17's can be had for a bit more than a crap guard and they actually protect things.

If you are talking about the full size bar that has guards on it that protect the headlights and grill, then that's a brush guard.

If you're talking about just the single piece that protects the grill it can be called a brushguard, push bar, a-bar, or safari bar.

(In Ed McMahon's voice) You are correct, Sir!

I own one as pictured below. It's new name is front end crimper. Consider that a warning.

A TJM T-17 like mine will only run you about $450 it's way more sturdy than a waag brushguard that cost almost the same.
Mine has somewhat of a gap since I have a 1.4" BL.

yep, in my younger days i had one of them there things. at least i had the piece of mind that no brush was gonna dare mess with my rig!
but yeah, i've mostly heard them called grill or brush guards. to be fair, they will protect your front end, but only from very minor collisions. as far as accident aftermath, off road durability, approach angles, etc well that's another story.

my buddy hit a honda accord at 10mph. His push or brush guard bent back into his hood and fenders. It messed up the whole front end I will bet $1000 that if it was not on his truck all he would have suffered was a mangled bumper
