I'm looking to decrease the noise in my 4Runner. I know i can get a thicker carpet pad for the floor (actually going to get a fitted vinyl floor with an extra thick pad) but i'm talking about inside the rear panels. Since i have the first gen, i can pretty easily access the inside of the quarter panels all the way up to the front doors. So, i'm wonderign what i should use? Should i get foam, or something? Thanks

you can use sound deadener which is what the car audio buffs use to reduce vibration and give good clean bass

Spray on bed liner (like Rhino) works wonders too.

Yeah that car audio stuff should work real well, one company makes some stuff called Dynomat I believe, I heard it was real expensive but it does a good job

peal-n-seal is basically a cheapo alternative to dynomat.. slightly thinner.. (yet to find some here )

Don't waste you're money on the dino rip off. Just find a roofer or supply company and ask if they have a partial roll of urethane or rubber roofing membrane it has a self adhesive back and when warmed up a little it sticks to EVERYTHING.
