what winch

I'm hoping to buy a winch this summer and I'm wondering what are the best to buy. Of course I'll be putting a synthetic winch line on it, but I don't know which brand to buy. I'm guessing that a 8000-9000 lb winch will do. so, any suggestions?

That's what I was thinking, but I figured, why not find out everyone's opinion

But you need to have the motor running to run the winch...

I am also partial to Warn.
They build a solid product.

I run the XD9000 on my rig.
If you want to see a few vids of it, here are some on the first trip after I bought it last year.

You might say it saved the day, as we had a blue 2nd gen stuck in a snow bank pretty good.

That's with 100' of 5/16" synthetic line on it too.

I think that he meant the milemarker hydraulic. I have the E8000 electric one. $399 at 4 wheel parts

I think Lee was referring to the fact that olly doesn't quite have his motor up to speed yet since reinstalling the new one.

Warn does indeed make some great winches. I've been very pleased with my 9500i.

well this is just a plan for the summer. I also want to get a arb bull bar with a winch mount. Some one that I know can get arb stuff fro really cheap because his uncle is an authorized dealer. It sound's like a 8000 lb winch will do fine with sythetic rope, right?

The 8,000 should be fine since your rig is lighter than my 2nd gen.

Many run an 8 or 9 with a rig like mine and are happy.
