What will stop me best?

Need the advice of this group to advise me what brake set-up will work best on my 98' 4Runner Limited :

Brembo rotors with Akebono ProAct ceramic pads
or
OEM rotors with OEM pads
or has anybody have better performance with another combiation?
Advice is appreciated!!

also interested to hear if anyone has anything to say about the AKEBONO pads.
i hear thats what all the upper end high performance cars are using as OEM.
I have STOP-TECH drilled and slotted rotors and wil be looking at the Pro-Act pads as well.

I've wondered that myself. I've finally paid my 4Runner off and my next debate was to FINALLY fix the rotor warping issue. I've cleaned and adjusted my rear drums several times when I do a rotation. Yesterday I put on some Brembo blank rotors with stock brake pads and I'm still a little skeptical about the Brembos after already going thru a set of stock rotors, Autozone rotors, and cheap junky cross drilled rotors from ebay. I've read lots of great reviews on the Brembo blank rotors and Hawk pad; as well as the Tundra caliper and rotors set ups. If Mine does not work then my next and final chapter will be the Tundra upgrade.

Haven't heard of the tundra brake swap. Is it a good bolt on swap or are there fabs needed?
Will they fit 1st gen 4 runners?
Anybody have costs for this mod?
