What size socket do need to remove rear shocks

Assuming it's not a solid rust knot.....B'laster, a hex L-wrench and a box end wrench. I can't picture how you'd get a socket in there and keep the thing from just spinning.

14. A deep socket worked well for me, you might find good results with a short extension and a standard socket.
If you have a good amount of rust, then you might find it is easier to just cut the shock off instead of trying to unscrew the nut.

Ok, that's it, I'm going to have to go out in the cold to see what you guys are talking about. I must not be remembering it correctly.
Edit: No, it was as I remembered it. How are y'all keeping the rod from spinning while you loosen the nut? Open end ratchet? Or am I the only one special enough for that sort of problem?
