What rear end? (99 4Runner)
I have a 1999 4Runner Highlander, V6, 2WD, auto. I does not have the E-locker. I was thinking of getting a Truetrac but, I'm not sure what to get. This truck will totally be street driven. Am I doing the right thing or what?

This is my opinion of course, however, there is no sense in locking the rear end for street driving...If you are wanting to run drags, I would spend my money in some fuel mods....new injectors, new computer....Just my $.02

Waiting on my injectors to come back from RC. Have a Supra TT MAF, TT fuel pump, SAFC, either a Supra TT regulator or a Aeromotive. Headers are wrapped ready to install. Borla should be here any day. Any other mods you want me to do before the Truetrac?

The Trutrac is NOT a locker, but instead is a Limited Slip Differential (LSD). Just posting this because some people seemed confused as to why a person who has a Supercharged 2WD 4Runner, that is only going to be driving it on the street, would want one...

Dr. Z thanks for the back up. Most sports cars come with LSD from the factory. It helps to put the power to the ground evenly (In a straight line, corners, etc.).

That is fine, however, he is not driving a drag car...he is driving a 4000 pound brick....I asked if he was looking at dragging and no response....That is very true...there is a great reason for LSD's however, no one knows what he wants to use his rig for.

I build sportcars all day and most of the night. My point is I want to put my power down to both tires. All I wanted to know is what rear end to buy and, I think I will go with the Truetrac and maybe some gears. As soon as I do the fuel and all the other mods I'll strap it back down to the dyno for some tuning. Then to the 1320.
