Question What fits?

I recently came upon an 01 4Runner, that has plans of being lifted in the near future. I want to be able to run 33" tires under it. All the guys I know here in town keep telling me I need at least a 1" body lift. I want to stay as far away from a body lift as possible. What can I do, to achieve my goals? Also, on this note, will 35" tires fit under the truck if I put a 6" suspension lift on?

Thanks guys....

More to come later

First of all you need to do a search first, this has been covered millions of times. I'll answer your question to help you out though. You will not be able to clear 33's without at least 2.5" of lift or more especially if you go off-road at all. If you're looking for a cheaper lift, look at Revtek, Old Man Emu is pretty reasonable too, but do a search and you'll find many options. Also that big of a tire will rub on the upper a-arms with stock wheels (condsidering you have the stock 16's) so you'll have to change those to aftermarket or grind them down some.

as far as i know, the front end of a tacoma 6" lift, will fit, but isn't really a bolt on, but alsao that's some $$$. if you want 285/75r16's (33x11.50) then you just look at a 3" kit from OME, Revtek, or any of the others out there... if you want 35's you might want to consider the Body lift-

Do you mean 285s or actual 33s?

285s will fit with minimal rubbing on stock wheels, stock a-arms and a 2.5" lift. You'll probably have to pound the pinchweld a bit if you want no rubbing at all.

33/12.5s will NOT fit with stock rims and stock a-arms regardless of lift as they are wide enough to rub on the stock a-arms. Aftermarket wheels and/or a-arms are necessary to get around the width of the tires. Then, you'll need at least a 4" of total lift to avoid any serious rubbing. I've got just over 4" of lift in the front and I rub pretty regularly, but not bad.

33/9.5s or 33/10.5s should fit fine with stock gear and 3" of lift. I have no experience with the narrower 33s though, so this is just an educated guess.
