What does this switch do?

I have an 89 SR5 Pickup 5 speed Pickup.

My question is, right where the shifter, and 4WD gear lever is located, is a switch that has an arrow to the left and one to the right.

Can someone please tell me what it's for? It's bothering me, because it doesen't do anything, and nobody seem's to know why it's there.

Please

Pics

Take some pictures and post them if you can. Can I assume that the switch appears to be factory and not a aftermarket mod?

A buddy of mine has an '89 and his doesn't have it...take it to the dealer and just ask one of the service guys to look at it or call em or somethin, they will definately know off the top of their heads.

You should add that into your sig, just because it's an 88

Not that I would know... just a wild guess, but could it be the switch for power mirrors?
