What is the deal with the wheel bearings 96 Taco ADD?
Man,
what a time I have had trying to get someone to press in & out my wheel bearings! #$%@&*! Took the whole knuckles and hubs off and have had them to 4 different places for removal & pressing, no one can seem to do it? One place only succeeded at bending and gouging my backing plate tabs and shearing the backing plate in two places (see pix) It is a 1996 Taco 4x4, x cab with ADD. Nothing special, should be easy? Finally found a place that claims to be able to do it but after trying they said that they were having trouble and wouldn't be able to get them done that day, will have them done Monday... HOPEFULLY!
Anyone know why so difficult or are all the shops in my area just inept? The only shop that I trust and usually use has the machinist on vacation for 10 days... $#%^@&*!
thanks,

Finally got them both out of the machine shop today, all pressed in and OK. New backing plate and all... unfortunately though I had an unusual issue with the drivers side upper ball joint upon reassembly... here is that thread: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...875#post920875
now all I have to do is Get the Firestone shop who mutilated my backing plate to pay for the new one, wish me luck?

What I PITA, I really wish they hadn't made them like that. I just hope I don't have to do mine anytime soon, though I kinda want to just as preventative maintainence.
