Talking What color paintjob?

OK, my mom is going to pay for a paintjob for my 4runner for good grades and i was just wondering what color you guys would love to see most on a 95 4runner. My 4runner is a burgandy red right now. Im painting mine now becuz i have so many scratches on it, have to get some dings pulled out and have to paint my new fender anyways after getting rammed by a taurus.
Thanks, Jake

Silver is a great color because it hides scratches and looks really good with mods. That's my vote.

Desert Dune is pretty cool too.

A full color change is fine but remember door jams and interior can factor in. A cheap paint job will show the old color in the door jams etc. If it were me i would stick with the original color or maybe a shade darker. Better for resale as well.

My 3 cents worth

My thoughts exactly. You'll have a blue exterior and red door jambs.

Just repaint it the same colour, my 2nd gen was also a burgandy red with the same interior colour. When I sold my 2nd gen and went with the 3rd gen Desert Dune, I started missing the red. I love how the red looks on sunny days, looks so sexy especially with the chrome bumpers and silver rims

Unless you plan on spending alot of money on all the labor to have the door jams and etc painted, I'd stick with factory as well. There's nothing more nasty than a cheap paint job.

A couple of months ago, there was a local car show here in town. A 92-95 Honda Civic Coupe painted Si blue BUT the door jams and all were red, looked real nasty. So many bad comments by the bystanders around the car.

Question

If you have the tan interior,I'd stick with the same color. If it's gray, and you plan on a good paint job, including the door jams.Go 2 tone.Metalic charcol gray trim along the bottom and over wheel wells.Rest of the truck-Gun metal blue.Sounds crazy, but thats what I wanna paint my 87'!Way to go on the grades!!

Stick with the same color.

When it is covered in dirt and mud it doesn't matter
what color it is.

Talking Kandy Blue!

Those of you familiar with Kandy colors should know what I'm talking about. Kandy blue is the prettiest color IMHO on any car, including super-sports cars. It is deeper than Toyota's factory blue, and has much more of a metallic appearance. The best way I could describe it is dark blue chrome. It doesn't "glitter" so much as with Toyota metallic appearances, but has a luster like that of chrome. This is BIG bucks though. Is it practical in any ort of way? No, but I just thought I'd throw this out there. Stick with the factory red/burgundy unless you're a millionaire.

so instead of gettin a new paintjob do you think that i should just get it detailed, scratches covered and painted over, and my fender painted and blended into my hood and door, that sounds good becuz i do sort of like the red color of it.

Don't forget that on your title it says the color is red, and if you change the color you might have problems when you want to sell it or trade it in. Oh, and don't go to Maaco. Mr T. pity's the fools at Maaco.

black paint with red door jambs
Not quite as bad as Blue/red, but I still think it would look too weird. You don't want prospective buyers turning their heads to the side and going, "Huh?" They will be suspicious of other stuff.
If you intend to keep it forever then go for the black, but consider that you probably won't.
Any way to just buff up your current paint and save the money?

I voted for the original color. That burgandy red is one of my favorite 4Runner colors anyways (along with that dark green and dark grey color). Unless you plan on painting the door jambs, just go with the factory color.

Well, that's my opinion on that. Like the painted emblem by the way.

Have fun.

Everyone's talking about the door jambs, what about under the hood. I don't think you'll be removing the "squirrel wheel" to paint the firewall, fenders, etc. Keep it stock color.

What about 2 tone red on top with black at the bottom. I don't like regular two tone that much personally, but I saw a rig one time that had blue on top and yellow on the bottom. The yellow looked like it was dirt that got kicked up - all irregular where it met the blue. I like that look quite a bit (different colors of course)

Just a thought.
