Like the subject says.

I'm having a hard time finding aftermarket stuff online for my new truck, just got it tuesday. I already put on the window vent guards and bug guard.

What is the "best" spray in liner, rhino, line-x, etc? Also, what are you guys paying for it?

Can I lift a 2wd? All I want is 2-3" for asthetic reasons.

Do a search on Rhino Linings or Line-x. I used to work for Rhino, and I highly recommend them if you can find a good dealer.

I'd suggest spending some time in the tech section here. Some of these mods would be easily translated to your 4 banger

The lift question comes up kind of a lot and if you do a search you'll find a good amount of what you need. I believe the cheapest reliable way to go was a suspension spacer lift using cornfed spacers. There are some contrary opinions to those though.

Thanks for the cornfed link. Here's what I like from them...

Tacoma complete lift kits
The complete lift kits include everything needed to lift your Tacoma. They come complete with front lift spacers, rear matching add-a-leaf, new longer rear shocks, and the BPV bracket to compensate the rear brakes for the added height.

2.5" full kit Part # Taco-2.5" kit Uses Procomp EXP-13120 rear aal, new longer rear shocks, and the BPV bracket. Leaves truck about 1/2 in. high in the rear (similar to stock stance).
$265 + shipping ($25 east coast/$40 west coast)


Is this a good lift? Is it a body lift? If it is, don't the bumpers stay down when you raise the rest?

Since they say you get add-a-leafs and longer shocks, I would think it would be a suspension lift. maybe it is coupled with a body lift, but I would think its only suspension.

As for some mods for your 4cyl, K&N airfilter, or amsoil airfilter will give you a little better throttle response, also the deckplate mod, and I think there will soon be a ISR mod write up in the tech section.

I believe all the Cornfed kits are all suspension lifts.

I'd try a search if I were you though...
seems that some people believe that spacers lead to premature compression of your springs.

I was going to go to spacers while I saved up for OME all around but I think I'm just going to add that saving to the fund. I'm not sure if I believe it but I figure I might as well save my money.

I hardly know anything though so don't take my word for it

Would it be worth it to get the cornfed 2.5" lift? It just seems so cheap. Would I need new tires or would the old ones look just fine? If so, what kind of tire would fit on the stock rim and if I got new rims, what size/back spacing?

I went from 265/70R16 to 265/75R16 on my stock rims and haven't had any problems and seen very little drop in performance.
I asked everyone else about this when I got my tires and everyone mentioned that this is probably the largest you can get before having to regear to gain back lost performance.

Nobody else seems to have had any problems with cornfeds so why not?

Rhino Lining all the way...expensive but DEFINATELY WORTH IT!!!!!!!

That's all I know about good stuff for pickups...my pops has got one in his big ole' Chevy and its incredible!

You're on the right track: OME suspension lift, 265/75 tires and you're good. I put an Amsoil air filter in and switched to syn fluids - big help!
