Has anyone used these? they seem so inexpensive, so I'm worried about "too good to be true". but by appearances they seem pretty cool.

It does say, "This auction includes two boxes of the FR Racing 500 series 6" Halogen off road lamps. Each box contains one FR 500 lamp, quick release hardware, Wiring harness, switch, and installation instructions." Another bonus is the "All auctions include FREE SHIPPING, free insurance, and guaranteed delivery.
" But I don't even have anywhere to put them. I just thought they seemed like a good deal and look cool and bright. I also found the same lamps here

I would be wary of chromed lights if you are in an area that applies a lot of salt on the roads in winter. If you can afford it, go for stainless or aluminum housings that won't rust.

Hey, I will be in Helena next week! Do you know of any good trails in the area?

MT doesn't use salt on the roads in the winter. Thus, the standard windshield cracks and gouges in every MT vehicle from the sand that they do lay down. I am on my 2nd windshield, and it has had 2 rock chips filled. I searched around and I would guess that these FR 500's are generic equivalents of the Hella 500's. Same bulbs, size, design, etc.

A good trail outside of Helena is Leslie Lake, or a bit more rugged Tizer Lake. I am not sure right off the bat about directions, but I've taken my truck to both. Both are south of town off I-15. I believe Tizer lake you take the Jefferson City exit, and Leslie Lake you take the Boulder exit and go through Elkhorn. I may have that swapped, too. CHeck a MT Gazetteer. Have fun!

Tizer Lake
Leslie Lake. How to get to Elkhorn, actually, but once you're there you'll find directions to Leslie Lake. Drive up past the cemetary.

Thanks for the trail tips. I had heard of Tizer and am going to hit that one for sure.

Have you been to Park Lake campground and the trails around Lava Mountain? Are they worth checking out?

Take care.

hmm

the pic of the lights from the side: they look exactly like procomp 6 inch crome 100watt lights which is a good light but the pic with them mounted on that roof bar is different. it doesn't show the same lights. they have different ones mounted on the bar. Hmm dont' know if i would trust them but hey i'm not light expert.

Yeah, many times. I don't recall any good 4x4 trails up there. There is some good mountain biking, though. the lake is nice, too.

I bought those exact lights from a company in Canada similar to your Harbour Freight in the US. It was on sale for $14.99CDN each. They are good lights for the price, but they do rust.

IMH lights are lights, they will be much brighter than your stock ones. it really is just a matter of your personal taste on looks of it. I've got the cheapy Hella500s and they put out more lights than i'd ever need. I'd say get'em if you like'em
