Question What is it!?

Whats up guys? I am a newby to the site and just wanted to say hello. I have a few questions about my 4Runner. I just got it at the end of August before I went back to college; I couldnt stand driving my riced out accord anymore. Anyways, I know this is a dumb question, but I cant figure out if my 4Runner is an SR5 or a limited. It is an automatic '97 4Runner with the 3.4L engine and has the SR5 badges, but all of the perks that came with the Limted edition (leather seats, 3 cd changer, etc.) The previous owner said that the SR5 was the top model made in '97, but I thought that they also made the Limited one too.

Also, quick stereo question (I apologize if this has already been brought up in another thread, I havent had much time to read through them yet). I am looking to replace the the stock door speakers with the Infinity Kappa 63.5i's (6 1/2" 3-way speakers), but am unsure as to what size they are. If they are smaller than 6 1/2" (which I think they are), how hard would it be to modify the panel to make the new speakers fit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys and have a great Christmas!

I actually have the Infinity speakers in my car, the 6 1/2's fit perfectly, the rear unfortunantly are 4" but the place I took it to custom fit a 6 1/2" inifinity set in there as well. It sounds really good by the way, and welcome.

Do you have the painted fender flares or the plastic black ones? If they are the more basic flares then it's an SR5,the Limited's had the nice wider painted flares til '00 then the SR5s had them also.

Check out Steve's website. He was able to put a pair of 6 3/4" Polk speakers in the rear doors.

yea, its the rears you need to worry about. i just stuck 4 inchers in there and replaced the fronts with alpine component speakers.. they sound good enough, till i get a sub.

anyway, the previous owner is a lying jerk ...they always made the limited & sr5s for every 3rd gen model year. in 99 & 00 they added the highlander edition, which became the sport edition in 01 & 02.
