Westach Guage Questions
I talked with Roger at Westach Guages, and man, these things are expensive it seems. But I haven't looked at anyone else, and I was under the impression that these were cheaper than most but good quality. Have I read correctly? Here's what he quote me:
1) Fuel Pressure/Cylinder Head Temp Combo $71.60
2) Exhaust Gast Temp/Tranny Temp Combo $71.60
3) EGT Probe $33.10
4) Dipstick Tranny Temp Sensor $20.00
5) Fuel Pressure Sender $40.80
6) CHT Spark Plug Mount/Sender $14.50
7) Guage Lights $4.00/each
8) Plastic Dual Guage Pod $12.00
The total would be $271.60. What do you all think?

ravencr,
No, I wouldn't say they tried to rip me off ... exactly.
I had talked to them over the phone and had discussed orderingan additional 4 dual gauges. After about a month, I called them to check on my order. Well, they apparently forgot about it. So I reiterated what I wanted and asked for an order confirmation sent to me.
After about two iterations of errors, I called about a $150 charge for dial tooling. They replied that they had to draw 3 of the dual gauges dials @ $50 apeice. I guess I missed any statement in their catalogue that said there were dial tooling charges in addition to the advertised price.
Well they wouldn't back down so I cancelled those 3 gauges. I currently have an EGT dual gauge, a vacuum/boost gauge and a fuel pressure gauge all from Westach.
They were nice enough, the gauges are adequate, and I wouldn't say they tried to rip me off, but had I not insisted on an order confirmation they would have billed me for an extra $150 that I don't think is right.

So do you think they are shooting me straight with my above offer for the two dual guages?
Chris
P.S. Anything you would change about the pickups or anything. I need those 4 guage types, so that's not an option, but the pickups have different styles from what I understand. Any ideas?

ravencr,
Your prices seem to be what the catalogue lists (from memory). But I'm tellin' ya - watch out they don't try to slip the dial tooling charge on ya for the combo gauges.

That's fine! I'll make sure I check to make sure. Is there any other guages in this price range or are these the only ones that you're aware of?
