YAY! YAY! YAY!

I gotta say, that I'm REALLY impressed with the kit. Everything just fit - first time. Total time spent was about 5 hours, but that includes fighting the rusted bolts on my PS pump, alternator and main idler; along with a couple "CRAP! I droped the bolt"'s, and the COLD and rain (for the locals that are looking at the sun today, I started yesterday in the rain); and the fact that NO hardware stores were open yesterday so that I could spent 16 cents on a couple of washers to deal with that long bolt on the tensioner!

I figure I could do another one in about 3 hours start-to-finish.

Tip of the day... spend $10 on 14mm ratcheting box wrench to get at the damn bolt on the PS pump adjuster. ARGH! I ended up just pulling the adjuster bracket off.

The pull in 2nd gear is just wild... I run up to redline in NO time.

Oh.. and NO PING!

Fuel mods wise... I have to get the SMT dialed-in, but right now it looks like I may be okay for a while. I _will_ get 305cc injectors and a Walbro, but my hope was to be able to get stuff setup to the point that I don't HAVE to spend another $500 right away.

YAY! YAY!

Don't get to counting your chickens quite yet... It's not uncommon for a new install to have no ping at first, but after a couple of tanks of gas, the computer gets dialed in and the pinging starts.

Keep an eye on it.

Ahh... 'k, good to know.

I've become pretty sensitive to hearing That Sound, and I'm always on the watch for it.

Finger's crossed then!

Thanks Rob.

I hear you on the wrench, Just got done with my install too but still have to plumb in the boast gauge, I will also say I had a heck of a time with the vac. lines still not 100% sure if I got everything right yet will look it over again in the morning, I had to guess at a few of the conenctions that made no sense..
You wouldn't have a picture of everything plumbed up under teh hood so I can check mine do you ?
Feels nice on the 10min ride home but its dark and cold out so I will re-check in the morning for mis-wireing cause to me it didn't seem all that but it for sure was more power .
The ones that confused me the most was from what looks like the power stearing area up and one for the 4WD VSV that one I am not sure I I got right either. So a picture would help alot if you happen to have taken some.

Nice Mark!
Now I am feeling the need to succomb to peer pressure and go for it too.

I know some claim that the seafoam helps to keep the ping away but that has yet to be tested (even if it does, you are riding the ragged edge with almost no safety factor to be sure with no fuel mods.....the delivery system is just not up to the task in stock form).

You know, I want to add some more comments and ask some questions. Since you have the SMT, you're in a much better spot for having a truly enjoyable and likely a problem-free experience with the SC than most people.

So, now with the questions.

1. You did zero out your timing maps before firing up the engine with the SC installed right?

2. Did you do some preliminary tuning like setting Fuel Zero to adjust the LTFT and maybe dialing in a few degrees of Timing Retard around 2000-2500 RPM at half throttle?

3. Did you look at your OBDII reader and check out things?

4. Did you use your WideBand O2 sensor to tune WOT?

Inquiring minds want to know.
