Weighed the 4Runner today
I decided to weigh my 4Runner and camper setup today. The 4Runner is a '99 4x4 V6 5speed with ARB Prado bumper, Warn M8000, Trailcarnage skidplates, TC sliders, TC rear bumper, Conferr roofrack, OME Springs/shocks front, Inland a-arms, swaybar disco's, LC shocks, OME springs rear, SS panhard drop bar, SS lower control arms, (5) 285/75/16 Mud tires, portable Extremeair, custom cargo box made of plywood, full assortment of tools, (2) spare cv axles, hi-lift jack, cb, childseat, assorted misc. items-oil, etc. in cargo box and me in the drivers seat (170 lbs), full tank of gas
Camper is a 2005 Fleetwood Niagara Popup with all options-a/c, 2 full propane tanks, battery, awning, spare tire, includes all camping stuff loaded in camper but does not include food and drinks
Camper and 4Runner combined (me inside) 8680 lbs
4Runner (me inside) 5080 lbs
Camper axle weight 3200 lbs
Camper tongue weight 400 lbs
Total Camper weight 3600 lbs
Looks like when I'm going camping that the 4Runner is well over it's GVWR of 5250 lbs b/c when adding the camper tongue weight it would be at 5480 lbs and that doesn't include another passenger, food, coolers, clothes, etc. Oh well, it seems to handle it well nonetheless. I should be thinking about the Tundra brake upgrade though b/c it stops better when towing the camper then when not towing. The camper has electric brakes and I have a Prodigy brake controller in the 4Runner.
I did this at a Cat verified weight scale.

wow..you got some heft goin on there, but definitely seems like your runner can handle it. You running a tranny cooler? with all your gear packed + camper attached, does your back end sag or does the LC setup seem to hold it up fairly well? im also considering going up to the tundra brakes since my rotors are starting to give the shakes. gonna have to hit up a junk yard n see what theyve got.
btw...interested in seeing your TC bumper setup. checked out their site, but no content...hmm got pics? and does it have a rear tire carrier?

No tranny cooler needed for the manual tranny. Back end sags 1.5" or so when hooked to the camper-but this makes it tow level b/c usually the rear is 1.5" higher than the front. I'm running OME 891's with 1.5" Daystar Spacers and the top part of the factory cone, not the LC coils. I tried the LC coils, but they are to soft for heavy towing. As far as I know TC is out of the bumper business-I've had this bumper for over 2 years and it is the only one he ever made. Try the website for Brucets-his bumper is almost identical.

When I was having leaf springs for my 95 made prior to the leaf swap I weighed my runner. Without me in it, but with my standard tools and recovery stuff it was ~5100lbs. It had all the stuff listed below for my 92...When moving from college it was so full I could only see the mirror out the pass window. I also had a trailer with my quad and 4 33" swampers and 3 boxes full of stuff. I was so heavy that my rear was at stock height or lower, and my 56" alcans were about 60 stiffer than stock, and 4.5" of lift and another 1.5" from shackles.
I guess the whole combo was 4runner: 7500lbs, trailer 1200lbs. Even with just a 22RE it did GREAT. I mean 75 wasnt possible up any hill, but other than that I couldnt complain...
These are great rigs, any gen...
