Weekend Project DONE! (PICS)

Finally, I am done! Just had the wheels and tires installed yesterday. I took my rig on the freeway and took it up to 95 miles per hour and it rides smooooooth. I read on someone’s post that they experienced some shaking with the steel rims, but no issues here. The rims are 16X8 Rock Crawler Series 97 and the tires are Maxxis Big Horns 265/75/16. I bought the tires from Tire Central in San Gabriel for $525 installed! That is the cash price, they will charge tax if you pay by credit card. If you live in the Los Angeles area or in Orange County give them a call, I shopped around and they are the cheapest. I gotta admit, I love the way my rig looks…I’m in love with my 4Runner all over again.

nice, looking pretty slick with the shiney black on black. I think it would look more slick caked in mud though

congrats man, your rig looks really good and clean. it looks even cleaner with all the badges taken off. nice rim and tire combo, all blacked out. how is the road noise with those Maxxis tires?

X2--looks great! It is a miracle what a set of wheels and tires will do for a car/truck. Nice that you blacked out the lug nuts and said screw the center caps...

Nice. I've been thinking of the same type of wheels. I had also heard that steelies would shake. Good to hear that they don't. I wouldn't see why they would. The base model 4runner came with steel rims.

The road noise is not too bad when you have the windows rolled up. I've heard much worse.

Thanks, $525 for the tires and about $280 for the rims. The rims were on sale at 4wheelparts right before x-mas.

Performance Products 1" coils all around with OME 10mm trim packers in the rear and front and rear Tokico Trek Masters. The ride is not harsh at all.

is it just where your parked at or is the rear still sit a little bit higher? i'm interested in the PP lift, but want a more level ride.

The rear sits a little higher because he used 10mm trim packers to get it a little higher. Just the coils alone should be a level lift.
