Water Storage
What do you use for water storage? Jerrycan? Canteen?
Im talking about water for showers, cooking, cleaning, etc for everything except drinking (bottled water)
I have a blue container now, picked it up at Wal-Mart for under $10 (shown in the pic in my camp kitchen). It leaks when not sitting up right, thats not good for my needs. but i do like how it comes with a tap.
Help me out.

Very, very, very old pic of my rig up at Greenwater.
Same can as yours, it's a good one.
I also have 3 blue plastic jerry cans that fit into a milk crate for water for use for cooking, washing dishes, and more drinking.
For personal drinking, I prefer a canteen.
This one is what the fire crews use when battling forest fires.

Ryan,
Funny, we have the same silver cooler and blue water thing too!
I use the water carrier mainly for washing dishes, hands, etc. I bring one or two of those spouted water things from the market for drinking water.

Huh, how about that. I just ordered one of these: Link.
I'll plumb it so it gravity feeds. Better than the 15 gallons of "jerry can" style jugs I carry now...

I use a 5 gallon hard plastic container for drinking water and I bring a 4 gallon sun shower when camping. I fill both and always have enough for 2-day camping trips.
By setting the sun shower on my hood and in the hot sun all day, I can get the temps up to 116 degrees. Now that's a camp shower!
I will use the sun shower to wash dishes too.

Speaking of showers...a FJ buddy of mine has a really neat setup....
He sticks a pump in a creek, pumps the water into a heater core on his rig, flips a switch, starts the engine..and PRESTO...SCALDING hot water. Super neat!
When I camp I usually don't haul much water, maybe a few Nalgene's full. I carry an MSR Miniworks filter if I happen to need more fresh water.

yeah those engine heaters are cool, expensive though. What me and my dad do when we are camping is through the pump in the water, run a hose to a copper coil in the fire, hose out the other side. BAM! hot water. but i would rather have the engine one. its hard to adjust the temp in the fire
